Keystone Appaloosas is a multi-faceted riding arena owned by Jim & Maureen Bridges of Pilot Mound. Maureen has shown purebred Appaloosas for many years all over Canada, receiving a multitude of awards for her work with this beautiful animal. She served as a National Director on the board of the Appaloosa Horse Club of Canada and is an Inspector for the breed. Jack Dyck, also from Pilot Mound, works with Jim & Maureen as well, and brings a wealth of experience to the facility in the form of rodeo experience & training horses.

Safety is a top priority. Fencing is designed so that the horses can reach through an opening in the fence and access water without playing and pawing in water. The corrals are built with freestanding, self-supporting, portable heavy pipe. There are no sharp corners for horses to scratch themselves on and each pen is built with safety in mind for both the horse and the rider. Every animal on the farm has access to fresh water at all times.

Jim & Maureen have found that almost everything they need is available locally. Allan Fallis of Crystal City provided their fencing materials. They consider the feed and bedding they purchase in the area to be top notch.

As well as having registered horses for sale, Keystone Appaloosas offers training in two separate styles. Maureen offers riding lessons for pleasure or show while Jack offers rodeo style lessons focusing on roping and barrel racing. Anyone of any age can take lessons. Keystone horses are provided to those who don't have their own.

The arena is a busy place from 4-H functions to clinics.

Services offered at the facility are:
  • boarding in a heated barn
  • indoor arena rental
  • lessons
  • clinics

Boarding includes use of:
  • the riding arena
  • the tack room for tack storage
  • the office - located inside the arena

Planning on a vacation? Keystone Appaloosas will horse sit for you!
